Questions & answers
Which devices does PinPoints run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later.
Do I need an account?
No. PinPoints has no account. Your trips, stops, favorites and tags are stored locally on your device.
How are distances and times calculated?
For driving, walking and cycling, PinPoints asks Apple Maps for a route. If no route is available, the app can fall back to another routing service or show the straight-line distance. Air distance is always the straight line between your stops. All values are estimates.
Can I navigate with PinPoints?
PinPoints plans and measures. To get directions, open a trip in Apple Maps or Google Maps with one tap.
Kilometres or miles?
Both. Choose your unit in the settings.
Does PinPoints work without a connection?
Your saved trips are always available on your device. With offline map packs you can download map regions in advance; there the map shows your places and saved trips without a connection, with trips drawn as straight lines between the stops. Search, new routes and opening a trip in Apple Maps or Google Maps need an internet connection.
Which languages does the app support?
English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
What data does the app collect?
Your trips stay on your device. The app uses analytics and crash reports to see which features are used and to fix errors; these never include your places, addresses or coordinates. All details are in the Privacy Policy.
